Award for Commitment to Promoting Human Rights in Business
The first National Guide on Human Rights and Business published in 2016 by the Law firm INTER PARTES Skopje and the Danish Institute for Human Rights revealed that the area of business and human rights was in the early stage of development in the country. Today I am proud to say that also due to the professional legal aid provided by INTER PARTES, there are more and more companies that are ready to integrate the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in their policies and practices. As a leading law firm in this filed, we managed to help our Clients adopt a Human Rights Policy, revise their contracts and establish grievances mechanisms in line with the international standards.
We are happy to announce that this commitment was recognized by KONEKT, who delivered to INTER PARTES the Award for Commitment to Promoting Human Rights in Business.
This Award will further motivate INTER PARTES to continue providing high quality legal aid, especially to those companies who are still undetermined to start this journey, maybe due to the unfamiliarity of various concepts and processes.
This Award will further encourage us to find tailored-made legal solutions as to how companies should position in regards to the supply chain. Whether child labour is present in the country of origin of the business partner? Whether they respect the right to privacy or the right to be a member of a labour union? These are just some of the questions which we need to answer when conducting a human rights due diligence for our Clients.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to KONEKT and we will do our best to merit this recognition.
